Overview
For MEJO 332: Public Relations Writing, we were assigned a nonprofit organization to create a press kit throughout the semester.
Goal
Chipster Offline Personal Library is a nonprofit organization based in Durham, North Carolina. Chipster’s mission is to help individuals obtain educational materials without internet access worldwide. Chipsters are offline, portable libraries stored on flash drives. However, Chipster struggles with establishing an organization identity, gathering donations, volunteers, and effectively showcasing its worldwide impact. Conclusion
This was my first time managing a client relationship, so I had no idea what to expect. However, our consistent weekly meetings with founder Cliff Missen allowed us to connect with him personally to truly understand his goals with his nonprofit. Additionally, this project allowed me to solidify my PR writing skills with a nonprofit lens and fostered key collaboration skills and confidence.
